Living Our Faith, Making a Difference
Our Mission
Faith in Action
Faith is best expressed through action. Guided by God’s love, we create meaningful opportunities for learning, worshiping, gathering, and serving. The goal is to empower individuals to grow spiritually and personally while making a positive impact in the congregation, community, and beyond.
Our Vision, Mission, and Purpose
Vision
To be an open, thriving family, living our faith guided by God’s love.
Mission
To create meaningful opportunities for learning, worshiping, gathering, and serving.
Purpose
To help people grow personally and spiritually, empowering them to make a positive difference in the world.
Our Commitment to Service
We strive to make a meaningful impact through:
Serve with Compassion
Inspired by Christ’s love, we extend kindness and generosity to those in need. Whether through outreach programs, mission projects, or acts of everyday care, we strive to be a source of hope, healing, and encouragement in our church, our community, and beyond.
Learn and Grow
Faith is a lifelong journey, and we embrace opportunities to deepen our understanding through worship, study, and reflection. Through scripture, prayer, and spiritual exploration, we seek wisdom and guidance, nurturing a faith that is both thoughtful and transformative.
Gather in Worship
Gathering in worship is central to our faith. Through prayer, scripture, music, and the sacraments of Baptism and Communion, we celebrate God’s presence in our lives. Worship renews our spirits, strengthens our faith, and draws us closer to God and one another.
Connect in Fellowship
Community is at the heart of our church. We come together in friendship and support, sharing in each other’s joys and challenges. Through small groups, gatherings, and shared experiences, we create a space where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and encouraged.

Giving Back and Serving Others
God calls each one of us to make a difference by serving others. In addition to the many ways we serve our church members, we humbly reach out and serve our community through our mission partners listed below:

Kid's Food Basket
Kids’ Food Basket is a nonprofit organization fighting childhood hunger to help young people learn and live well. They began over ten years ago by serving 125 kids each school day through their Sack Supper program and now serve over 6,000 kids each weekday in West Michigan. We serve by preparing and packing meals every six weeks.

Kids Hope USA
Kids Hope USA is a mentoring program that partners churches and schools. Bostwick Lake is excited to partner with Lakes Elementary. Mentors are trained adults who assist students with academic learning through positive interactions. Adults serve one hour per week for the entire school year.

North Kent Interfaith Hospitality Network
IHN provides shelter for homeless families by partnering with 25 congregations throughout Northern Kent County to provide overnight rooms, hospitality, and basic needs. During the day, families can land at Mamrelund Lutheran Church (North Kent Day Center), where they receive basic needs, employment assistance, housing assistance, and other supportive services.
