Faith and Learning for Young Hearts
Children’s Education & Sunday School in Rockford, MI
We are committed to guiding children in faith, fostering a love for learning, and helping them build a strong foundation for a life of spiritual growth. Our Children's Ministry serves children from birth through 5th grade, focusing on developing the whole child—Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Ages 0-5th Grade
Children's Ministry
Our Children's Ministry is dedicated to providing a welcoming space where children can learn, grow, and explore their faith in an interactive and meaningful way.
Sunday School
Children in grades K through high school begin Sunday worship in the sanctuary, where they experience the rhythm of adult worship and participate in meaningful ways. After about 15 minutes, the congregation offers a sung blessing, and children are invited to continue their worship downstairs in our dedicated Worship Centers. Led by two-person teaching teams, these sessions engage children through interactive storytelling, movement, and the arts—providing a rich and age-appropriate exploration of faith until the main service concludes.
Building Foundations for Life and Faith
Our program emphasizes experiential learning that nurtures both spiritual growth and personal development. Through hands-on activities, creative expression, and meaningful engagement, children build a strong foundation in faith, develop confidence in who they are, and learn the value of serving others with compassion and purpose.
Curriculum
Our Spiritual Life team has selected an interactive curriculum to guide our teaching teams each week. Designed to be hands-on and engaging, this approach encourages active participation, helping children connect with faith through storytelling, creative activities, and meaningful conversation.
Nursery Care
Our nursery offers a safe, caring environment for our youngest children, giving parents the opportunity to fully engage in worship with peace of mind. Open every Sunday morning and during special services throughout the year, the nursery is staffed by two attentive adults who care for children from birth through age 4.
In a clean, cheerful, and child-friendly space, little ones enjoy age-appropriate activities such as playing with toys, listening to music, reading books, and having a light snack.
Families are encouraged to use this nurturing space, where children can feel comfortable, engaged, and cared for while their parents participate in the life of the church.

Our youth program continues to grow, and we’re thrilled to have Samuel Sanestin guiding its development as our Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator. With a strong background in pastoral leadership, community service, and youth mentorship, Samuel brings both heart and experience to his work with young people. His commitment to faith, service, and personal growth makes him a valued part of our church family.
At Bostwick Lake Congregational UCC, we aim to create an engaging space where youth can explore their faith, build meaningful friendships, and serve their community. Through regular gatherings, service projects, and creative activities, young people are invited to grow spiritually, discover their gifts, and develop leadership skills in a supportive environment.
As the program expands, we look forward to offering even more opportunities for connection, learning, and involvement for youth of all backgrounds.
